VIJAYAWADA, India Nov 22, CMC-West Indies Women defeated India Women by 15 runs to complete a three-nil sweep of the T20 International series at Vijayawada here on Tuesday. A solid half century opening partnership between Hayley Matthews and Captain Stafanie Taylor laid the foundation for West Indies 139 for four in 20 overs after they won the toss and elected to bat.

NEARLY two months after Tropical Storm Matthew swept across Saint Lucia, its after-effects are still being felt in the agricultural sector. Massy Stores (St. Lucia)’s Perishables Manager, Dunstan Demille, told The VOICE this week that the supermarket chain is currently experiencing a vast reduction in its usual supply of key produce from local farmers whose livelihoods stood in T.S. Matthew’s destructive path.

EU Hospital Opening ‘Very Soon’

THE Ministry of Health and Wellness held a high level meeting to discuss plans for commissioning the Owen King EU Hospital with the EU, PAHO, the National Authorizing Office and the Commissioning Team for the Millennium Heights Medical Complex. EU/PAHO officials were interested in gaining a firmer understanding of the overall plan and progress to date for operationalizing the new facility.

ST. LUCIA’S appreciation of the English Monarchy will be tested today when, Prince Henry of Wales, familiarly known as Prince Harry touches St. Lucian soil to start a short visit. It is part of a 14 day official engagement in countries of the Caribbean in which the Queen is Sovereign, except Guyana which is a republic but is part pf the Commonwealth of Nations. It is also to mark the occasion of Antigua and Barbuda’s 35th Anniversary of Independence and the 50th for Barbados and Guyana.
