Vieux Fort South Take U-21 Title
VIEUX Fort South captured the Saint Lucia Football Association-sponsored inaugural Vizions Men’s Under-21 Football Tournament title, defeating Soufriere 4-3 on penalty kicks after a 1-1 score-line at the end of regulation time on Wednesday evening at the Phillip Marcellin Grounds in Vieux Fort. Playing before a crowd estimated at 1,300 fans, VFS squandered four scoring opportunities in front of goal in the first seven minutes of the encounter. Despite the misses, however, they were able to settle down somewhat as Jervic Mc. Farlane opened the scoring after their fifth try at goal in the 12th minute to put the team ahead.

UNDER-21 FINALS — Soufriere And VFort South Meet Tomorrow
THE final of the inaugural Men’s Under-21 Vizions Football Tournament sponsored by the Saint Lucia Football Association will kick off from 7:00 p.m. tomorrow at the Phillip Marcellin Grounds in Vieux Fort when Soufriere and Vieux Fort South play for glory. The two teams made it to the final with wins over Marchand and Vieux Fort North respectively last weekend when they scored nine goals between them at the same venue. Soufriere thrashed Marchand 4-0 while Vieux Fort South with four goals from the boots of Antonio Joseph defeated neighbours VFN 5-1.

Allysia Alfred – Young Swimmer With Eyes On the Olympics

Sharks Swim Club 100-metres Backstroke and Freestyle swimmer, 11-year-old Allysia Alfred is among the latest of these and her goal is the Olympics in either 2020 or 2024. The Leon Hess Comprehensive Secondary School Form 1 student participated recently in the annual Racers Lucian Grand Prix Swim Championship at the Rodney Heights Aquatic Centre (RHAC), finishing in second place in the 100-metres freestyle.
U–21 Semifinals At Vieux Fort Tonight
THE Phillip Marcellin Grounds in Vieux Fort will come alive this evening when the Saint Lucia Football Association stage its double header semifinal matches in the Vizions Under – 21 men’s championship. From 6:00 p.m. Soufriere will take on Marchand in what is expected to be a keenly contested matchup. Marchand made it to the semifinal with a 5 – 1 victory over Anse-la-Raye, while Soufriere edged out La Clery 1 – 0.
