TOKYO OLYMPIC GAMES 2020: Team Saint Lucia Set To Compete Tomorrow

SAINT Lucia will start their Olympic Games medal hunt tomorrow (Sunday 25th July 2021). First to compete are Sailors Luc Chevrier and Stephanie Devaux – Lovell, the duo will start their campaign in the men and women One Person Laser Radial.

The opening ceremony took place yesterday. Decked in Saint Lucia colours, four times Olympian and world ranked high jumper Levern Spencer and swimmer Jean Luc – Zephir proudly carried the national flag.

The official Saint Lucia contingent to the 2020 Olympic Games in Japan was announced by the Saint Lucia Olympic Committee (SLOC) Inc President, Fortuna Belrose during a press conference on Tuesday 26th June at the SLOC Headquarters in La Clery, Castries.

The chosen athletes will be competing in three disciplines: track and field, sailing and swimming.

The aquatic team is made up of swimmers Mikaili Charlemagne in the 50-metre free and Jean Luc – Zephir in the 100 metres free.

Jean Luc will compete on Tuesday 27th and Charlemagne on Friday 30th July.

The lone track and field athlete Levern Spencer will go into battle in the Women’s high jump on Thursday 5th August.

Henry Bailey is the team Chef de Mission / Head of Delegation and Brian Charles, swimming coach.

The Summer Olympics Games ends on Sunday 8th August.
