Saint Lucia records 26 new cases of COVID-19

The Ministry of Health and Wellness on July 6, 2021 received confirmation of 26 new cases of COVID-19 from the Ezra Long Laboratory. This is from a total of 310 samples taken during the period June 29, 2021 and July 5, 2021. These samples were processed on July 5, 2021.

Confirmation was also received of the recovery of 13 individuals bringing the total number of active cases in country to date to 96. At present, three of the active cases are requiring critical care at the Respiratory Hospital. The new cases bring the total number of cases diagnosed in country to date to 5352.

As of July 5, 2021 a total of 31, 037 individuals have received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine and 22, 152 individuals have received the second dose. Tomorrow Wednesday, July 7, 2021 the health team will be administering the COVID-19 vaccine at the Dennery Mothersā€™ Pre-School and the Vigie Sports Complex. This COVID-19 vaccination drive will cater to general population (18 years and older) for the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine as well as individuals for the second dose of the vaccine.
