Global Entrepreneurship Week St Lucia 2021: Time to Get Involved!

IN November 2021, the Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN) will officially celebrate 13 years of Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW), a platform that has aided millions of people unleash ideas which propelled them to start and scale new businesses. The initiative began in 2008 with a particular emphasis on inspiring young people to make their mark and has rapidly grown into a worldwide effort that engages entrepreneurs, investors, policymakers, researchers, support organizations and other collaborators to advance economic growth and innovation in over 180 countries globally.

Global Entrepreneurship week is observed for one week, each November and will take place from Monday 8th November to Sunday 14th November this year. The St. Lucia Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture, the local host organization, joined the Global Entrepreneurship movement in 2011 and will, not only mark this year’s celebration but also commemorate its 10th anniversary of participation.

There has been a deliberate effort on the part of the Chamber to commence the groundwork and preparation for GEW as early as possible. Regular partner meetings have been held that have been immensely fruitful and promising. Discussions for the grand celebration have juxtaposed the growing needs of entrepreneurs within this current climate and possible avenues for satisfying those needs. It is believed that this year’s observation is ideal to alter the way persons perceive entrepreneurship and what it means within our local culture, especially as we emerge from a pandemic.

The St. Lucia Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture hereby encourages all interested agencies and organizations to be part of the local movement for GEW 2021. Agencies may wish to host an event, rebrand an existing event in your calendar under Global Entrepreneurship Week, support one of the beacon events or co – sponsor a partner event. These efforts will aid in promoting the entrepreneurial spirit in St. Lucia, as well as assist in creating and sustaining a viable entrepreneurial ecosystem that is undoubtedly, vital to our economy.
