BRIDGETOWN, Barbados, CMC – Test captain Jason Holder says one of his main goals is to transform the Caribbean side into a tightly-knit unit, and believes this will be the catalyst for any turnaround in the team’s fortunes. The Caribbean side has endured a torrid time in Test and One-Day International cricket over the last decade and currently ranked eighth and ninth respectively in either format.

B’dos Oval Ready For Cricket

BRIDGETOWN, Barbados, CMC – The Barbados Cricket Association has promised that the historic Kensington Oval will be in tip-top shape for the hosting of the matches in the upcoming West Indies Cricket Board’s Regional Super50 bowling off next week. In a media briefing on Friday, the BCA’s chief executive, Noel Lynch, said the governing body worked hard to get the facility ready for the event, which will be played in Barbados from next Tuesday.

World Cup Hopes for Caribbean Teams Boosted, But It’s No Guarantee Says C.F.U. President

KINGSTON, Jamaica, CMC – Caribbean Football Union president, Gordon Derrick, believes the decision to expand the World Cup to 48 teams will augur well for regional sides but has warned this does not represent “a guarantee” of a spot at the showpiece. Football’s world governing body, FIFA, unanimously voted on the move a week ago, which will see the number of teams at the tournament rise from 32 to 48, and the number of games leap from 64 to 80.

St. Lucia Ranked #21 In World Netball

THE International Netball Federation has updated its rankings to reflect matches played between October 23 and December 11, 2016, including matches from the Test series between England and Jamaica and the Test Series between Saint Lucia and Saint Martin. Following these activities, there is no change to the ranking for the top ten teams. However, Jamaica (4th) draws closer to England (3rd) as a result of their 2-1 series win.
