CORPORATE WARFARE FUTSAL: Grand Finale This Evening

THE crowd is expected to be massive this evening, as all roads lead to the Beausejour Indoor Practice Facility, as Timeout Entertainment will stage the grand finale of the 2018 Corporate Warfare Futsal, which kicks off from 6.30 p.m. — and regardless of the outcome, at the end of the final whistle, a new champion will be crowned.

The excitement is expected to be feverish with the third place silverware as first timers Small Business Owners (SMO) takes on Sandals La Toc. The latter, one of the teams that was tipped to win this year’s tournament though not having a big fan based behind them, their quality of play, their professionalism and energy on centre court gain them the respect by the other competiting teams.

The final is scheduled for 7.30 p.m. by then the temperature is expected to rise a few notches, likewise the atmosphere with the loud shouts from the stand and Ezra D’Funmachine keeping fans entertained, despite the side attraction, all eyes will be glued on centre court when the two teams make their appearance for the showdown.

Contesting the finals will be the Ministry of Infrastructure and the Saint Lucia Teachers Credit Corporative. Its anyone guess as to which team will emerge victorious, but based on the quality of play they have showed up to the semifinal round last weekend, it will be pretty difficult to predict this one. Rest assured the fans/supporters coming in to take in the showpiece will be surely entertained.

The Ministry of Infrastructure will select their starting five from: Andy Joseph, Ron Reid, Darnal Reynold, Andrew Cherubin, Stanley Prospere, Marlic James, Petrus Gustave, Kamali Charlemagne, Mc Claude Polius, Kerry Joseph, Marvin Leonce and Kahill Francois. The Technical staff: Dwain Strose – Team Manager and Sherman Sylvester – Head Coach

Saint Lucia Teachers Credit Corporative will select their starting five from: Selva Wilson, Alex Joseph, Roger Leon, Nehemiah Wilfred, Allen Octave, Errol Marquis, Claude James, Kwame Augustin, Jacob Dupre, Kirby Felix, Kirby Joseph, Klen Jules and JeanalSnagg. The Technical staff: Annie Celise – Manager, Rohan Lubon – Head Coach.

In must be noted that, the two finalists who will be playing for the championship this evening did not qualify in the first round of matches. They both landed in the final 24 through the playoffs.

Meanwhile, a record 521 goals have been scored, with 43 hat tricks. In terms of teams scoring the most goals, Sandals La Toc lead the pack with 49 goals, followed by Saint Lucia Teachers Union on 40, Flow on 33 and one of this evening finalist the Saint Lucia Teachers Credit Corporative with 31 goals.

Sandals La Toc prolific goal scorer Ferguson St. Clair top the list with 20 goals, he is closely followed by Tev Lawrence of Sandals Grande on 18, Nehemiah Wilfred of Saint Lucia Teachers Credit Corporative on 16 and Lynch Isidore of Saint Lucia Teachers Union on 14.

Nehemiah is the only player left in the tournament, that means he need to score a beaver trick to win the golden boots award.

Ferguson St. Claire (Sandals La Toc) top the hat trick table with 5, he is closely followed by Tev Lawrence (Sandals Grande) on 4 and Nehemiah Wilfred. (Saint Lucia Teachers Credit Corporative)
