SLFA’s League Competition Update

On Monday (September , 7) , in the SLFA Inc. Senior Women competition at the Desruisseaux Playing Field, home team Desruisseaux put on an impressive display to overpower a determined Choiseul team 5 – 1.

Desruisseaux’s goal scorers were Alysia Emmanuel, with goals in the 12th and 47th minutes; Amora Henry 24 th , Ulina Joseph 53 rd and Merliz Samuel 66 th minute.

Nyeesha Antoine scored a consolation goal for Choiseul in the 75th minute.

Highlighting the SLFA’s slogan : Let Them Play , the competition continues to gain momentum as participating teams make a bid for the championship title

In the meantime, Roseau Valley, Micoud and Soufriere were the featured teams emerging victorious over the weekend, as the SLFA Inc. Boys Under-14 District League competition resumed at the Technical Centre in Grande Riviere, Dennery.

On Sunday, a goal-spree ensued, with two hauls also registered on the day.

Roseau Valley demolished South Castries 8-0, with Israel Evans converting in the 5th, 36th, 50th and 63rd minute, while other goals came from Jeanri Joseph 20 th, Jelani Cox 64th, Darnell Boohlie 70th and Yannell Estaphane 71st minute.

Micoud defeated Dennery 5-1, with Chavez Lawrence scoring from the penalty spot in the 3rd minute, and other goals in the 12 th, 43rd, and 53rd minutes, and Gervi Altidore in the 51st minute.

Roshan Henry scored for Dennery in the 52nd minute.

Dennery’s goal scorers were Jonathan Emilene in the 38th, Kyree Clovis in the 39th, and Kaiden Charlery in the 60th minute.

In the final game on the day, Soufriere beat Desruisseaux 3-1, after being down 1-0 at the interval, to hit back decisively.

Earlier, Hasani Eliotte provided Desruisseaux with a 6th-minute lead, but they were overpowered by a more composed western zone side.
