WORKERS employed with Blue Waters St. Lucia Ltd and Food Express Ltd are now in a position to receive trade union representation.
The National Workers Union has received a Recognition Certificate from the Department of Labour giving it the right to represent the workers.
It was two months ago that the NWU submitted a recognition claim to the Department of Labour on behalf of the workers. The Department conducted a secret ballot poll among workers to justify the recognition claim.
It turned out that over 77 percent of the employees, among which are drivers, salesmen and porters, voted in favour of having their interest protected by the NWU.
