More Cruise Calls Scheduled for Saint Lucia

OVER 400 more visitors visited Saint Lucia yesterday with the berthing of Celebrity Summit and Windstar Breeze at Port Castries and Rodney Bay, respectively.

According to the Saint Lucia Tourism Authority these cruise calls are fresh off the heels of the reintroduction of the sector to Saint Lucia on June 29, and augurs well for continued operations.

The Authority noted that more cruise dependent income earners are set to benefit and that more key tourism sites and attractions including the Gros Piton Nature Trail and Diamond Botanical Gardens have opened to the public as of July 6, giving visitors increased options for adventure.

“More cruise calls in such proximity reflect our resiliency as a people and the ability to navigate successfully through dire circumstances. This is testimony that we remain resolute in our quest to build back the tourism economy, even stronger than before”, said Tourism Minister- Honourable Dominic Fedee.

In ensuring the progressive rebound of the cruise sector, the remaining months of 2021 are projecting strongly, and as such the Authority says it will continue to engage with all cruise lines on calls to be realized in the near future.

Port Health Authorities will continue to screen visitors at all ports of entry to ensure that in maintaining consistency with the issuance of the white wristbands for stayover visitors, all fully vaccinated cruise visitors will be issued with a wristband on arrival.

Fully vaccinated visitors are encouraged to make the most of their stay and to get out and about and enjoy all that Saint Lucia has to offer, whether it is with a prescheduled tour, dining, shopping for craft and other items at the local market, Duty Free shopping, or just laying at the beach for some warm summer sun.

Vaccinated adults accompanying unvaccinated minors, as well as all unvaccinated visitors who wish to disembark the vessel, will be accommodated within a bubble.
