STAFF of the 1st National Bank St. Lucia Limited continued in their employer’s footsteps by donating a variety of grocery items, toiletries and clothing to the people of St. Vincent and the Grenadines in the wake of the La Soufriere’s most recent series of volcanic eruptions. Prior donations of water conservation tanks and large volumes of water came from the Bank. This time however, the emergency relief support was donated by staff across all branches of 1st National Bank.
According to Bank staff, though the last eruption of La Soufriere was recorded on April 22nd, 2021, the aftermath is still a present reality for thousands of evacuees who have been displaced from their homes, in some cases their families and by extension their communities.
In the words of Executive Manager Human Resource and Organizational Development Prisca Eristhee- Delice “This initiative was organized and provided for, solely by the general staff body. The overwhelming response speaks to the love and care of our team members and the ease with which they respond to disaster. For these reasons, it is indeed very gratifying to see employees come together by way of an act of humanitarian kindness, makes me feel so proud of our team. It tells me this is truly an extension of our tagline Here…. for YOU!”
