A featured contributor to the soon to be released book, “Sheet Music: The Diary of A songwriter”, St Lucian recording artiste and songwriter Chrycee heads to Hollywood this week to attend a Grammy Tribute Event and the launch of the book.

The event takes place at the Avalon Hollywood on Sunday.

Written by five-time Grammy Award winning songwriter, producer and music programmer, Devine Evans, “Sheet Music: Diary of a Songwriter” aims to shed light on the sexual injustices female artistes can encounter while chasing their dream of a career in the music industry.

In an effort to empower these women, “Sheet Music” shares the stories of a variety of female artistes’ personal experiences as well as general advice on how to cope with and safeguard themselves against such abuse and injustice.

Chrycee is among these female artistes who share their experiences and lends her voice to this cause to empower other ladies in music as to how they can navigate through those sexual injustices and protect themselves.

A dominant figure in the music industry, Devine Evans, who has worked with music icons like Mary J Blige, Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Beyonce and Chris Brown, to name a few, says his hope is that “Sheet Music” will empower any woman struggling within the music industry and let her know that she is not alone.

Chrycee told THE VOICE yesterday: “I was invited to this event and also to be part of the performance cast for that evening because I am a featured contributor to the book which will be released at the event and also because I am one of the talents on a song done by this producer”.

Chrycee said that being a part of this event, part of the book and talent on one of the productions from “such a renowned music industry professional” was amazing and surreal. She added: “I am absolutely honoured to be an official part of this Grammy tribute event which is in its seventh year and even more so to have been able to lend my voice to the book, which promotes such positivity and is also a message of empowerment of women fighting against sexual injustices. This is one issue that I am passionate about”.
