PRESS RELEASE — Castries, St Lucia – March 30, 2020: For the last 129 years Peter and Company Distribution’s business culture has been defined as People Caring and Doing. This philosophy guides us even more so today as we face and rise to the challenge of responding to COVID-19 in a responsible, compassionate, proactive and practical manner.
As the largest and oldest distribution company in St. Lucia, we resolved to face this fast-moving situation head on inspired by the loyalty, commitment and dedication of our frontline team members who have been showing up everyday in the face of their own fears over COVID-19 and going above and beyond to ensure that the nation continues to have a supply of essential products. For this we salute them!
As the situation evolves, so too has our way of doing business; again through the valiant efforts of our very own “Specialist Social Distancing Squad” PCD was able to mobilise and launch, in record time, Curbside Pick Up Service at our flagship PCD FoodMart retail store at S&S Plaza, Bois D’Orange, the first of at least 2 additional stores earmarked for this service in the coming days.
We have also launched a “Grab + Go Bag” which contains a variety of products classified as “family essentials” at an affrodable price to enable our customers to call in or what’s app and collect quickly to reduce time spent instore thus maintaining good social distancing practices.
These are indeed unprecedented times for the nation and the globe as a whole, but PCD is confident that, together, we will get through this with the continued support and combined effort of our Instore Warriors and Road Warriors delivering much-needed essentials to families all across St. Lucia.
We also express our deepest thanks to the support staff behind the scenes in every department of our company for going above and beyond to help our customers during these uncertain times. They have personified our philosophy of People Caring and Doing for Each Other with a spirit of kindness, patience, care and brotherhood.
Our hearts, thoughts and prayers go out to all the healthcare workers, globally and locally who are on the frontlines fighting this virus. We also thank our government, protective services, first responders and other vital agencies for tirelessly working to stop the spread of COVID-19 in St. Lucia.
