THIS year’s installment of Caribbean Youthfest did not disappoint. It saw the emergence of some new acts, as well the refinement of others.
In addition, the side acts kept the crowd entertained along with the funny antics of the show’s hosts Scady DOT-P and (Donnerville) and their very engaging post and pre-commentary on the acts, made a show a memorable one.
The show featured musical acts from various genres including gospel, reggae, R&B, hip-hop, and the ever popular Dennery Segment/Kuduro Music.
The audience were also entertained with dance acts and featured presentations from Imani Models – a Vieux Fort-based Model Company.
Throughout the evening the show maintained a steady pace with the acts appearing on time, with very little lag time – a credit to the show’s organizers and stage-management – A truly remarkable feat.
The highlight of the evening was the feature act of Nailah Blackman — a “Trini” Soca Artiste/singer/songwriter whose lyrics and energetic performance enamoured her to the local crowd. Though short, it was a truly remarkable moment to watch her perform.
The evening culminated with the announcement of the winners – In the Teens category – 1st Place: Ti Camo, 2nd Place: Jimboy, NRC &Dollarkid. In the Twenties Category – 1st Place: Islands, 2nd Place Umpa.
All enjoyed every moment of the fun-filled and well-organised event – and already looking forward to see what Caribbean YouthFest 2019 will bring!
