In a powerful demonstration of corporate compassion and social responsibility, Financial Investment and Consultancy Services Ltd (FICS) has delivered multiple gift baskets packed with essential groceries and supplies to some of the country’s most vulnerable senior citizens and shut-in residents, thus providing timely relief during the Christmas season.
The donation drive benefitted several care facilities across the island (St. Lucy’s Home, Adelaide Home, Johnson’s Home, Marian Home, and St. Francis Home). The residents received much-needed food items which were intended to ease their daily living and also brighten the holiday period.
Marketing Officer at FICS, Katrina St. Omer, explained that the initiative was carefully structured to ensure it reached those most in need.
“This initiative is part of our ongoing commitment to giving back, and also aligns with the concepts rooted in our Senior Citizens Investment Plan product” St. Omer said. “We wanted to ensure that our support reached individuals who may be shut in or living in care facilities, especially those who depend heavily on assistance for their daily needs.”

St. Omer added that the programme reflects FICS’s broader philosophy of inclusive development, ensuring that senior citizens remain seen, supported and valued within society.
Meanwhile, FICS Official Administrator, Niguel Streete, underscored the importance of the initiative, particularly during the Christmas season when financial and emotional pressures can be heightened for vulnerable groups.

“Christmas is a time of sharing, compassion and reflection, and this initiative speaks directly to those values,” Streete said. “FICS’ mandate goes beyond financial services. It is about people, uplifting lives, strengthening communities, and ensuring that no one is forgotten, especially during the holidays.”
Streete further noted that the outreach aligns seamlessly with FICS’ mission to promote financial empowerment alongside social responsibility.

“Our role as a financial institution carries a responsibility to contribute meaningfully to national well-being,” he added. “Supporting senior homes and the less fortunate is one way we put that mandate into action.”
Residents and administrators at the recipient homes expressed appreciation for the timely support, noting that the grocery supplies will help offset rising costs and ensure greater comfort during the festive season.

Through this initiative, FICS continues to reinforce its commitment to community upliftment, demonstrating that financial stewardship and social compassion can, and should, go hand in hand.
