WASCO Launches Islandwide Meter Replacement Program

.

The Water and Sewerage Company Inc. (WASCO), Saint Lucia’s primary water utility provider, is initiating a comprehensive upgrade of its meter supply services island-wide.

As part of this effort, WASCO is implementing a meter replacement program that is currently underway throughout the island. This initiative is being carried out on an as-needed basis to ensure operational efficiency.

Meters will be replaced once they reach the end of their service life or become non-functional. The new meters accurately record water consumption, allowing for more precise billing.

The replacement program will be executed by route across the island, and WASCO’s field teams will strive to minimize any inconvenience during the process.

What Customers Can Expect:

– A temporary interruption of the water supply at your property while the meter is being replaced.

– The replacement process typically takes between ten to thirty minutes, after which service will be restored.

– Customers do not need to take any action during the replacement process.

– Notifications will be sent to customers following the meter replacement, using the contact number associated with their account.

– After the meter replacement, bills will reflect actual meter readings rather than estimated billing.

Customers may notice an increase in their monthly bill, as the new meters will accurately track consumption. If bills have reflected only the minimum monthly charge for an extended period, this may suggest that the previous meter was not functioning correctly.

Account holders are encouraged to check with the Customer Services Department to ensure that their contact numbers on file are up to date.
