That’s the anguished cry of Peter Jerry Son, a resident of Aupicon, Vieux Fort, whose business has been constantly targeted by thieves.
Over the past several years, thieves have been having a field day at his scrap metal yard, located at Aupicon, not too far from St Jude hospital, where several houses are located.
According to the frustrated business man, since opening his business 14 years ago, thieves have stolen his scrap metal about 10 times, and no one has ever been arrested or charged in connection with the incident, despite making several reports to the police.
“I don’t know what to do again. I am fed up,” Son lamented, adding that the most recent incident occurred last month.
“About $13, 000 worth of scrap metal was stolen from my scrap metal yard last month, which is a big blow to my business,” Son lamented.
He added that just last year his scrap metal yard was set ablaze by arsonist.
According to him, the constant theft from his business is becoming unbearable and has put him in financial distress.
Last year, with tears streaming down his face, he told this reporter in an interview that his situation was so dire, that his wife was forced to go back to her homeland in Guyana as a result of their financial hardship.
Son said despite his harrowing experience, he will continue plying his trade as a scrap metal dealer.
“I am leaving everything in the hands of God,” he said.
Son, who is also a welder and mechanic, said he developed a passion for scrap metal after working with a scrap metal dealer in Barbados for several years.
