This season’s SPFL tournament is igniting intense passion as the Tier 1 championships advance into the qualifying stages.
The Francis “Baba” Lastic Grounds in Gros Islet was alive with activity as teams fiercely battled for qualifying spots.
On Wednesday, Vieux Fort South delivered a commanding display against Choiseul, securing a resounding 5-0 victory. Goals from Obafami Poyotte, Jerneil Alexander, Eddie Jn Baptiste, Montel Justin, and Shan Alfred emphatically sealed the three points.
Choiseul’s late consolation from Requelme Elva in the 87th minute did little to change the match’s outcome.
Vieux Fort South continues its impressive run of form with a confident performance that underscores their dominance.
On Tuesday, Soufriere shocked the highly ranked Dennery side with a decisive 3-1 victory.
Nickson David opened the scoring in the 4th minute, followed by Innaco Sylvester in the 32nd, giving Soufriere a strong lead at halftime. Wynonds Joseph added the icing on the cake with a goal in the 90+3 minute, solidifying the win for Soufriere.
Gravin Raggie managed a 67th-minute goal for Dennery, but it was not enough to shift the momentum. Central Castries triumphed over Gros Islet with a 2-1 victory in a fiercely contested match.
