Theo Edward, captain of the Saint Lucia National Under-15 Cricket team had an exceptional series – scoring his fourth consecutive century to lead his side remarkably well in capturing the championship title.

Saint Lucia’s National Under-15 Cricket team was on a roll heading into the finals of the Winlott Inc. Under-15 Cricket Tournament, in a challenge to take down the defending champions, SVG.

The stage was set for a highly anticipated final, which sports pundits referred to as a ‘Battle of the Saints’ clash.

Upwards to press time yesterday, Theo was 136 runs in his team’s total of 270/7 (50.0) to set up an interesting chase for SVG to overhaul. However, Leon Alexander put on another brilliant bowling spell to rout the ‘Vincies’.

SVG had also amassed maximum points from their two opening matches before they came up against Team Saint Lucia, Wednesday, at the DSCG.

Having salvaged two centuries in the opening round matches versus Dominica and Grenada, Theo, 15,  went on to complete his brilliant play with another dashing century against SVG. He fell 2 runs short of a double century in the teams’ first match.

Theo, who hails from the Bexon community, currently attends the St Lucia Sports Academy and is a product of the Mabouya Valley Development Programme. He has been a player on the National U-15 team from 2019, when he made his junior first class debut.
