“In an article published in the Weekend Voice newspaper on the [16th] day of April 2022, Earl Bousquet made some statements which, after careful review, Mr Bousquet now accepts were factually inaccurate, untrue, and defamatory of Mr Allen Chastanet.
Mr Bousquet’s statements had insinuated that Mr. Allen Chastanet committed a criminal act. These statements are quite clearly defamatory since Mr Allen Chastanet has never been charged with a criminal offense whatsoever, whether relating to the subject matter of the article or otherwise.
Mr. Bousquet now recognizes that these statements were not only wrong but also unfounded.
Mr. Bousquet accordingly wishes to take this opportunity to unreservedly withdraw these defamatory statements and any allegations made and undertake not to repeat or further publish same in any shape or form. Mr Bousquet expresses his sincere regret and apologies to Mr. Allen Chastanet and his family for any hurt, embarrassment or distress caused.”
