Two Men in Custody After Carnival

Sgt. Ann Joseph, Press Relations Officer of the RSLPF

In spite of the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force’s Public Relations Department confirming that the island experienced “a relatively incident free” Carnival parade on Monday July 18th and Tuesday July 19th 2022, two men couldn’t avoid being arrested.

One individual was arrested for Dangerous Maneuvering. One captain boarded another vessel without the express consent of its captain, according to Public Relations Officer Sargent Ann Joseph. Once on board, the perpetrator began stealing items from the vessel.

According to Sergeant Jospeh, the individual has been arrested and will be charged.

Additionally, one male was arrested after he was found in possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition. Additional rounds of ammunition were found during a police search of his residence.

Police are currently holding the twenty-eight-year-old Ceders resident pending charges.

The Saint Lucia Carnival 2022 was overseen by 260 regular police officers, 12 RSS officers, and 64 SSU officers.
