As part of preparations for the culinary event which is hosted by the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association, SLHTA will be hosting a National Culinary Competition to select a new team for 2017. The Taste of the Caribbean was established in 1993 and has become one of the Caribbean’s most sought after culinary competitions. The annual event provides an opportunity to network, polish professional skills and cheer on colleagues in competition, before a large audience of industry peers and food and beverage veterans from around the world.

Taste of the Caribbean provides education and inspiration through workshop, tastings and demonstrations, created to enhance performance, style and profitability in food and beverage operations. Participants and well wishers also experience the unique tastes, sounds and colours of Caribbean culture and cuisine in one place with the “Taste of the Island’s Street Food Competition” held each year as part of the event. Teams and representatives from many of the 35 CHTA member countries indulge in succulent dishes, tasty libations, music, and more during the weeklong event.
