THE Beausejour Indoor Practice Facility will come alive this evening when the St.Lucia Basketball Federation stages another double header semifinal showdown in the best of three playoffs in the Kentucky Fry Chicken Premier League Tournament.

From 6:00 p.m. Basketball for the Future (BFTF) will play Lions in a must win situation to keep the three match series alive; while in Game 2 – defending champions Courts Jets with one game already secured under their belt will be looking to seal off the deal when they play Soufriere Sulphur Stars at 8:00 p.m. The boys from Sulphur city must come out firing on all cylinders to force a third and final game and a chance to play the finals.

Meanwhile, in front of a small crowd on Thursday evening and despite being the only other team in the Premiere League to have defeated the VBCC Warlords during the regular season, the Micoud Hustlerz could not repeat that success against a second time as they were unable to hustle their way out of Game 1 of their 3 game playoff series losing 66 – 54 at the final whistle.

VBCC’s big man Marcian Calderon was locked in and almost single handedly out – rebounded the entire Micoud squad. With his 15 defensive rebounds out of his 20 in total and 10 points, Calderon was named the KFC Player of the game for his double double.

Kyanni Elwin was the next top scorer for the Warlords with 14 points.
Usual top scorers for the Micoud Hustler Canaan St. Catherine, Lance Prospere and Ulric Joseph combined for only 15 points which covered only 27% of their offense; while Mervin Augustin and Charles Augustin had 12 and 15 points respectively in their loss.
