MS. Genel Dominique, a student of the Vide Bouteille Secondary School is representing JA St. Lucia and her Company “Vide Bouteille All Out” at the JA Americas Company of the Year competition in Ecuador..
She will be accompanied and supported by JA participant; Ms. Chelsea Berkeley, teacher advisor; Ms. Vivian Nelson and the Executive Director of JASLU; Ms. Agnella Joseph.
The JA Company of the Year Competition is JA Worldwide’s annual celebration of the achievements of students across the Americas Region (South America, Central America and the Caribbean). At the event, JA Companies will proudly present the results of their enterprise, discuss learning experiences and appear before a panel of independent judges who will determine the company’s performance against the competition criteria.
The goal of this event is to balance the business achievements of each team as a whole with each member’s individual personal development. For a team to win this award, it is not sufficient just to run a financially successful JA Company or create an exciting product/service. Team members must demonstrate an understanding of how and why the company performed as it did. Judges will look for evidence of innovation and application of new ideas in all aspects of a company’s operations.
JA St. Lucia this week thanked the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and FedEx for their generous contributions towards the event and extended best of wishes to “Vide Bouteille All Out” as they embark upon their journey.
