The Institute of surveyors of St. Lucia is pleased to announce that Mr. Andre Mathurin has successfully completed all requirements of the Royal Institute of Chartered surveyors (UK) and is now a fully-fledged member of RICS with the designation MRICS. The announcement was made at the recently concluded Annual General Meeting held at the Financial Centre, Pointe Seraphine last Thursday (Dec 9).
Andre P Mathurin joined the Government Service Treasury Department immediately after graduating from the Castries Comprehensive Secondary School. He moved to the Inland Revenue Department and later the Property Tax Section, from where he earned A Diploma in land Economy and Valuation Studies from the College of Arts Science and Technology (CAST) in Jamaica.
He continued his studies with Post graduate courses in Valuation and Taxation at the City University of London, and Lindenwood College in the US. He received training Awards to attend and successfully completed Training in International Valuation practices in Taiwan and Malaysia before his retirement from the Government Service to establish his own Valuation Company. His recent accomplishment credits him with the certification of MRICS from the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) one of two qualified Valuation Surveyors to obtain this accreditation.
Andre, a founding member of the Institute of Surveyors (St. Lucia) Inc. is the former Commandant of the Saint Lucia Cadet Corps and is the recipient of National and Church awards serving on the boards of several organisations and voluntary groups. He credits his achievements to his Faith in The Almighty God and love and encouragement from his wife, seven children and family. (Ted Theobalds)
