THE SAB Playing Facility will host the third place playoffs and finals of the various divisions this Saturday and Sunday in the Castries Football League Youth Tournament.
In matches played last weekend, VSADC Lucozade Under-17 scored a major upset in the first semifinals when they defeated Pioneers FC B team. Pioneers had VSADC under constant pressure with their fast-paced attack, but a fine first half solo effort from the diminutive Keegan Caul was the only goal scored in the match. Caul’s goal was sufficient to enable VSADC Lucozade to advance to the finals.
In semifinal No.2, Valley Soccer Club easily got past Flow Lancers FC by 4-1 despite having a player sent off in the second half. Two goals from Jalen Peterkin and one each from OneilHippolyte and Densshe St. John were sufficient for Valley Soccer Club to advance. Flow Lancers FC’s lone goal was scored by Jaden Pollard.
In Under-19 semifinals action, VSADC Lucozade went down to Flow Lancers 5-4 on penalty kicks, after the match ended in a goalless draw. Following the dreaded penalty shootout, MalykAthanaze of VSADC Lucozade missed the decisive spot kick which sent Flow Lancers FC into the finals.
In the semifinals No.2, Valley Soccer continued their good run on form as they raced to a 5-0 lead at the halftime whistle. Unfortunately, Pioneers FC failed to take the field following the resumption, citing their inability to field a team.
On Sunday, in the final round of the Under-13 matches played. VSADC Pinehill defeated Valley Soccer Academy 1–0, the goal scored by Messiah Pinel.
Two goals from Callum Marius were enough to see Flow Lancers FC get past FC Pioneers by 2-1. GericGittens scored for Pioneers FC. This victory meant that Flow Lancers FC topped the Under-13 table and will enter the semifinal round.
