The Venezuelan Embassy has issued a powerful communiqué condemning the outrageous actions of the United States:
In response to the recent attacks against Venezuela by the US, political and civil organizations, jurists, and solidarity movements from Antigua and Barbuda, Argentina, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Canada, Cuba, Curacao, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Haiti, Jamaica, Martinique, Palestine (from the Gaza Strip), Paraguay, the Dominican Republic, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Saint Lucia, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago, Venezuela, and many other regions of the world have united to focus their efforts on defending the declaration of Latin America and the Caribbean as a Zone of Peace.
This event, known as the “1st Regional Conference: The Voices of the Caribbean in Defense of Venezuela and International Law,” brought together over 180 political and social leaders from the participating countries.
They proposed decisive strategies to analyze and address the various threats facing the region. This initiative is particularly crucial in light of the bombings on January 3, 2026, which resulted in the unlawful kidnapping of President Nicolás Maduro Moros and First Lady Cilia Flores.
Caribbean Contributions for Peace
The conference successfully articulated a series of proposals and actions among the Caribbean’s social and solidarity movements, reinforcing a unified stance against external threats aimed at destabilizing the region.
The main goal was to cultivate regional cohesion and promote peace through unified public statements from all nations involved.
Participants collectively emphasized the urgent need to build an international solidarity network to safeguard our nations’ sovereignty and to implement an action plan to reshape each country’s foreign policy.
In unison, participants denounced the warlike actions taken on January 3 by the Trump administration, which led to the tragic loss of over 100 lives and the illegal abduction of Venezuela’s constitutional President, Nicolás Maduro Moros, and the First Lady, Cilia Flores.
This conference is part of a coordinated series of activities including expert presentations on International Law, discussions, and analytical sessions.
Through this comprehensive work plan, we are determined to generate legal instruments and foster constructive dialogues that ensure the unity and integrity of the Caribbean.
