Investigations Continue into Drug Shipment and Conspiracy at Port Castries

Law enforcement officers are actively informing the public about a series of significant arrests and charges related to ongoing drug importation investigations at Port Castries.

These investigations are centered on MDMA conspiracy and cannabis resin interdiction. A female suspect has been charged and detained for multiple offenses pertaining to the possession and trafficking of illegal drugs.

The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force (RSLPF) has reported a major breakthrough following extensive interdiction operations at Port Castries, where substantial quantities of MDMA crystal, cannabis, and cannabis resin were seized.

On November 4th, officers from the Gangs, Narcotics, and Firearms Unit executed an operation in the Ti Colon and Sarrot communities.

During this operation, 34-year-old Erica Felix of Ti Colon was arrested in connection with MDMA importation.

On October 5th, 2025, Erica Felix was formally charged with the following offenses:

Three counts of Importation of a Controlled Drug

Three counts of Possession of a Controlled Drug

Three counts of Possession of a Controlled Drug with Intent to Supply to Another

Ms. Felix was presented before the First District Court on November 6th and has been remanded in custody until December 11th, 2025.

The RSLPF is steadfast in its commitment to robustly pursuing individuals and criminal networks involved in drug trafficking activities that jeopardize the safety and security of the nation.

Meanwhile, The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred at Marc, Bexon on Saturday, November 8, 2025.

About 6:40 p.m., Officers attached to the Criminal Investigations Department received information regarding a male individual discovered with apparent gunshot injuries in the Marc, Bexon area. The individual was transported to the Owen King European Union (OKEU) Hospital, where he was pronounced dead by a medical practitioner. He has since been identified as Twenty-three (23) year-old Jabez Edward, of Bexon, Castries.

Additionally, on Friday, November 07, 2025, about 1:00 p.m., officers of the Gangs, Narcotics, and Firearms Unit (GNFU), with support from the Special Services Unit (SSU), conducted a coordinated operation at Bexon targeting illegal firearms and controlled drugs.

Durin the operation, officers intercepted Zayne Austinay. A search of his person led to the recovery of:

• One (1) Glock 43X pistol

• Nine (9) rounds of 9mm ammunition

He was later charged with:

• Possession of Firearm

• Possession of Ammunition

On Monday, November 08, 2025, he was granted bail in the sum of $40,000.00 cash or suitable surety. His matter was adjourned to February 12, 2026.

Officers also executed a search warrant at the home of Tachem Preudhomme in Bexon. During the search, officers recovered:

• A quantity of compressed cannabis

• A quantity of cannabis resin

• And Cash

Tachem Preudhomme and Treshia Preudhomme were arrested and subsequently charged with:

• Possession of Controlled Drugs (Cannabis)

• Possession of Controlled Drugs (Cannabis Resin)

• Possession of Controlled Drugs with Intent to Supply

They were each granted bail in the sum of $7,500.00 when they appeared in court Monday the 10th of November 2025.

The matter has been adjourned to the 19th of February 2026.

In more police news, a 25-year-old Saint Lucian national, Deshawn Rene of Barre Denis, Castries, has been extradited to Martinique to face multiple criminal charges, including fraud, armed robbery, kidnapping, and murder.

On Thursday, November 6, 2025, Rene was formally handed over to a French escort team for transfer to Martinique, in a joint operation between the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force (RSLPF) and the Bordelais Correctional Facility (BCF).

This marks the fifth extradition to Martinique this year, as Saint Lucia continues to strengthen cooperation with French law enforcement in the ongoing fight against transnational crime.
