DENNERY collected all three points in defeating Mon Repos 2 – 0 at the Micoud Playing Field on Saturday in the St.Lucia Football Association Inter District Under – 18 tournament.
Decked in their customary red and white attire Dennery’s No.14 Newton Marshall opened the scoring in 33rd minute with a well struck low right booter from way outside the box, a shot that eluded the Mon Repos custodian to his right to leave the scoreline 1 – 0 at the half time whistle of Referee Gordon Wilson.
On the resumption both teams stepped up the tempo, but the momentum quickly died out under the mid afternoon heat. Dennery nosed ahead again this time through their No. 7 Chan Torrence in the 76th minute and that’s how the scoreline remained up until the final whistle.
For Dennery their No.5 Mc Kenny Flavius was shown a red card for a reckless challenge in the 86th minute.
In the second match on the afternoon, Micoud and Mabouya Valley played to a goalless draw.
