Meanwhile, the St Lucia Athletics Association has announced that Team St Lucia to the Pan Am Junior games has had to be withdrawn because they have not received the passports which were sent to the Canadian High Commission Office in Trinidad and Tobago to secure the visas. These passports were submitted over four weeks ago.
SLAA Treasure Cornelius Breen “Based on information coming from Trinidad and Tobago the passports were processed on July 20, but to date the SLAA has not received them and has no idea as to where there are presently. The parents and the two athletes in question (Ace Louis and Denzel St. Marthe) have been notified about the situation”.
He added: “It is very unfortunate that these two hard working athletes have to stay home after weeks of preparation for the championship”.
Breen, on behalf of the SLAA, apologized for the unforeseen circumstances surrounding the delay in arrival of the two passports.
