ECCB’s 2022 Country Outreach Missions Moves to Saint Lucia

Governor of the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB) Timothy N. J. Antoine is continuing his 2022 round of Country Outreach Missions, in Saint Lucia from 25-27 July.

Governor Antoine will commence his engagements with the Honourable Prime Minister and recently appointed Chairman of the Monetary Council, Philip J. Pierre. He will then meet with Cabinet, followed by the Honourable Leader of the Opposition, Allen Chastanet, where he will deliver a presentation on the ECCU’s Performance and Prospects with focus on Accelerating Economic Transformation for Long-Term Sustainability.

On Day Two of the mission, the Governor and his delegation will pay a courtesy call on the Acting Governor General, His Excellency Cyril Errol Melchiades Charles and meet with social partners including: the Christian Council, the Chamber of Commerce and the Business Council, trade unions, non-governmental organisations and youth.

The mission will end with sessions with the Saint Lucia Bankers’ Association and the media and a live interview on DBS Television.

The interview will also be streamed on the ECCB Facebook page and YouTube channel. During the broadcast, Governor Antoine will take questions from the audience.

The public is encouraged to call-in or send questions via social media platforms.

The ECCB delegation to Saint Lucia includes: Chief Director Policy, Tracy Polius; Head of the Advisory Services Unit, Governor’s Immediate Office, Dr Emefa Sewordor; Acting Director of the Corporate Relations Department, Shermalon Kirby; and Economist in the Research, Statistics and Data Analytics Department, Beverly Lugay.

The Country Outreach Missions align with the vision and priorities for the ECCB set out in its Citizen Engagement and Stakeholder Relations Strategy, which was introduced during Governor Antoine’s first term in office.
