The Ministry of Commerce has confirmed that operations at the Government Supply Warehouse continue without major disruption, despite a significant number of staff reporting sick on Friday.
According to the Ministry of Commerce, Manufacturing, Business Development, Cooperatives and Consumer Affairs, the sudden absenteeism affected a large portion of the warehouse staff. However, contingency plans were activated to ensure continued service.

“Every effort has been made to maintain normal operations at the facility,” a statement from the Ministry noted, reassuring stakeholders that delays have been minimized.
In response to the situation, management reached out to the workers’ union for clarity. The union has since confirmed that it is unaware of any coordinated strike action involving its members.
While the cause of the staff absences remains unclear, the Ministry emphasized its commitment to providing essential support services and stated that the situation is being closely monitored.
Further updates will be issued as more information becomes available.
