The Ministry of Health is proud to announce the observance of World Blood Donor Day 2025, celebrated on June 14th under the slogan. “Give Blood, Share Life, Be a Hero!”
This year’s campaign aims to raise national awareness of the critical role voluntary blood donors play in saving lives, while also encouraging broader public participation. Throughout the month of June, a series of public education activities, blood drives, and community outreach efforts will take place, with a strong focus on attracting first-time donors and sustaining regular donations to ensure a safe and reliable blood supply.
As part of our ongoing commitment to improving access and convenience for donors, the Blood Bank is excited to extend its blood donation services to Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Senior Medical Technologist at the Owen King EU Hospital, Karen Louis, echoed the Ministry’s call, emphasizing the critical need for increased public participation in blood donation efforts. “We encourage all eligible individuals to take advantage of this expanded schedule and make a life-saving donation. We call on individuals, businesses, community groups, and the media to join us in acknowledging blood donors and promoting a spirit of compassion and civic duty,” urged Louis.
By donating blood, you can be someone’s hero giving not just blood, but the gift of life.
