
Law enforcement officers have taken action against illegal firearms and ammunition possession in the Anse La Raye area, focusing on combating criminal activity on the island.
On May 24, at approximately 2:30 a.m., officers from the Anse La Raye Police Station conducted a stop and search of a motor vehicle during their patrol in Au Tabour, Anse La Raye.
During the search, they recovered one 9mm Taurus pistol and thirteen rounds of 9mm ammunition with an extended magazine from Kevin Jamerson. He has been arrested and formally charged with Possession of a Firearm and Ammunition.
On May 26, Jamerson was brought before the First District Court, where he was granted bail set at $20,000 for Possession of a Firearm and $15,000 for Possession of Ammunition, along with other court conditions.
In another incident on May 20 at around 10:15 p.m., officers stopped and searched a vehicle in Anse La Raye Village. They discovered one .22 firearm and one round of .22 ammunition belonging to Craig Hippolyte, a resident of Au Tabor, Anse La Raye. He was arrested and charged with Possession of a Firearm and Ammunition.
On May 21, Hippolyte appeared in the First District Court, where he was granted bail of $15,000 for Possession of a Firearm and $10,000 for Possession of Ammunition, along with additional court conditions.
