Jayden Xu Captures Bronze Medal at Pan Am Aquatics Championships

Jayden Xu delivered an outstanding performance, clinching a
hard-fought Bronze medal at the inaugural Pan Am Aquatics
Championships in Medellin, Colombia. He finished 3rd in the
Boys 13-15 50m backstroke with a time of 29.37, marking Team
Saint Lucia’s first medal at this prestigious event.

Today (Saturday), Jayden is set to compete in the 100m
Backstroke and 50m Butterfly events.

As reported, Team Saint Lucia showcased exceptional talent
during the PanAM Age Group Championships.

Here’s a summary of the impressive performances so far:
Jayden Xu:
– 50m Backstroke: Made the finals, securing the first medal for
Team Saint Lucia—a bronze.
– 200m Backstroke: Qualified for the finals and achieved 5th
place overall with a personal best time.

He accumulated 30 points for Team Saint Lucia. In the
preliminaries, Xu clocked in at 2:27.03 and improved to 2:26.37
in the finals. Caleb Edgardo Ramirez Alvarez of Honduras took
gold with a personal best of 2:17.40, followed closely by
Colombia’s Nicolas Lacharme Valencia.

On Wednesday, Xu finished second in his 50m backstroke heat
with a time of 29.90 seconds, just five hundredths of a second
behind Costa Rica’s Fabián Andrés Valverde. That time was the
third-fastest leading into the finals.

Noah Dorville:
– 200m Freestyle: Finished 14th.
– Today, Noah will also swim the 100m Backstroke and 50m
Butterfly.

Naekeisha Louis:
– 100m Freestyle: Finished 14th with a personal best time.
– 50m Breaststroke: Secured 5th place with another personal
best time.
– Today, Naekeisha will compete in the 50m Butterfly.

These three talented swimmers represent Team Saint Lucia at
the swim meet in Medellin, Colombia, running from May 10 to
17.

Under the auspices of PanAm Aquatics, this meet is hosted at
the Complejo Acuático César Zapata in Medellín. It attracts
more than 1,200 athletes from 45 nations and serves as a
qualifying event for the Junior Pan American Games 2025 and
the World Aquatic Sports Championship in Singapore.

The competition includes swimming, diving, artistic swimming,
and open water swimming.
