PETROLEUM sector workers employed with RUBIS West Indies Ltd at the George F. L. Charles Airport and Cul de Sac Industrial Zone operational bases will benefit from successful negotiations between the company and the National Workers Union (NWU).
Workers will receive a nine percent general wage increase which will be spread over a three-year period along with back pay for one year. The new arrangements will see improvements in overall working conditions such as Overtime and Allowances for Transportation and Laundry.
The company has agreed to continue providing customary social and economic benefits to its staff.
Secretary General of the NWU, Johann M Harewood has made all arrangements to have the financial compensation executed in the December 2024 pay cycle. Meanwhile, arrangements are being made with Labour Commissioner Joseph Joseph to have the signing of the industrial agreement done urgently.
The duration of the industrial agreement is for the period October 12, 2023, to October 11, 2026.
