Dennery Police recovered the body of a deceased male at LA Pointe Beach, Dennery, on Wednesday, September 28, 2022.
Samples were secured from the body and sent for forensic analysis. As a result, the deceased has been positively identified by policed as 19-year-old Simon Benjamin James, who had been reported missing by family members.
The Major Crime Unit of the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force has formally charged a 16-year-old for causing the death, at Fond D’or Beach on September 25, 2022. The teen was escorted before the First District Court, where he was remanded in custody, until case management at the Family Court, on October 20, 2022.
