Saint Lucia Records 35 New Cases of COVID-19

PRESS RELEASE — The Ministry of Health, Wellness and Elderly Affairs, on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 confirmed a total of thirty-five (35) new cases of COVID-19. These cases were processed on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at the Ezra Long Laboratory from a total of 282 samples, which were collected between November 1 and November 2, 2021. This number of positive cases makes up 12.4% of all the samples processed on that date. These new cases bring the total number of cases diagnosed in-country to date to 12,645.

The Ministry of Health also reports one (1) new COVID-19 death, which occurred on October 13. To date, the total number of COVID-19 deaths in country is 198 and the total number of COVID-19 related deaths is 62. COVID-19 death #198 is a 73 year old female from the Castries district.

Confirmation was also received of the recovery of 31 individuals diagnosed with COVID-19. This brings the number of active cases in-country to 318. Currently, one (1) individual is in a critical state and six (6) others are severely ill at the Respiratory Hospital.

To date, a total of 42,265 Saint Lucians have been fully vaccinated. Another 9274 are partially vaccinated and 336 have received their booster shot.

Vaccinations will resume on Thursday, November 4, 2021 at the Vigie Sports Complex, Gros Islet H.R. Centre, Soufriere Hospital, Vieux-Fort R.C. Parish Hall, La Resource Constituency Council, Courts Unicomer in Marisule and People’s Discount Pharmacy (by appointment only). Vaccinations are scheduled for distribution at all sites from 9 am to 5 pm.
