Saint Lucia Records 28 New Cases of COVID-19

PRESS RELEASE — The Ministry of Health, Wellness and Elderly Affairs today Thursday, November 4, 2021 confirms a total of twenty-eight (28) new cases of COVID-19. These cases were processed on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at the Ezra Long Laboratory from a total of 453 samples, which were collected between November 2 and November 3, 2021. This number of positive cases makes up 6.2% of all the samples processed on that date. These new cases bring the total number of cases diagnosed in-country to date to 12,673.

The Ministry has previously announced that it is in the process of managing an outbreak at the Bordelais Correctional Facility. We further wish to disclose that ten (10) of today’s cases are from that institution.

Confirmation was also received of the recovery of 30 individuals diagnosed with COVID-19. This brings the number of active cases in-country to 316. Currently, one (1) individual is in a critical state and five (5) others are severely ill at the Respiratory Hospital.

To date, a total of 42,475 Saint Lucians have been fully vaccinated. Another 9250 are partially vaccinated and 441 have received their booster shot. Vaccinations will resume on Friday, November 5, 2021 at the Vigie Sports Complex, Gros Islet H.R. Centre, Soufriere Hospital, La Fargue Wellness Centre, Vieux Fort Parish Hall, Micoud Multi-Purpose Centre, Dennery Mothers Pre-School, Babonneau Multi-Purpose Centre, Jacmel Wellness Centre, St. Anthony’s Medical Centre (Sunny Acres), and Inno Care (Clarke Street, Vieux Fort).
