Saint Lucia Records 14 New Cases of COVID-19

PRESS RELEASE — The Ministry of Health, Wellness and Elderly Affairs today Sunday, October 31, 2021 confirms a total of fourteen (14) new cases of COVID-19. These cases were processed on Saturday, October 29, 2021 at the Ezra Long Laboratory from a total of 106 samples which were collected between October 28 and October 30, 2021. This number of positive cases makes up 7.6% of all the samples processed on that date. These new cases bring the total number of cases diagnosed in-country to date to 12,573.

Confirmation was also received of the recovery of 8 individuals diagnosed with COVID-19. This brings the number of active cases in-country to 346. Currently, one (1) individual is in a critical state and six (4) others are severely ill at the Respiratory Hospital.

To date, a total of 36,772 individuals have received the first dose of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine and 32,117 have received the second dose. A total of 14,514 individuals have received the first dose and 9,776 individuals have received the second dose of the Pfizer vaccine.

Vaccinations will resume on Monday, November 1, 2021 at the Vigie Sports Complex, Soufriere Hospital, Laborie Wellness Center and the Vieux Fort Parish Hall. COVID-19 vaccine booster doses will be available at the CSA Center in Sans Souci, Castries and the Babonneau Multi-Purpose Center. Vaccinations are scheduled for distribution at all sites from 9 am to 5 pm.
