Saint Lucia Records 16 New COVID-19 Cases

PRESS RELEASE ā€” The Ministry of Health, Wellness and Elderly Affairs today Monday, October 4, 2021, confirms a total of sixteen (16) new cases of COVID-19. These cases were processed on Sunday, October 3, 2021 at the Ezra Long Laboratory from a total of 93 samples which were collected between October 2 and October 3, 2021. This number of positive cases makes up 17.2% of all the samples processed on that date. These new cases bring the total number of cases diagnosed in- country to date to 11, 709.

Confirmation was also received of the recovery of 20 individuals diagnosed with COVID-19. This brings the number of active cases in-country to 1,404. One (1) individual in critical state while eighteen (18) others are severely ill at the Respiratory Hospital.

To date, a total of 36,103 individuals have received the first dose of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine and 29,769 have received the second dose. A total of 10,629 individuals have received the first dose and 3,822 individuals have received the second dose of the Pfizer vaccine.

Vaccinations will tomorrow Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at the Vieux Fort RC Parish Hall, La Ressource Constituency Council and the Gros- Islet Human Resource Center. The vaccine will also be given at Peopleā€™s Discount Drugstore on Victoria Street in Castries by appointment only. Vaccinations are scheduled for distribution at all sites from 9 am to 4 pm.
