Saint Lucia Records 13 New COVID-19 Cases

NUMBER OF ACTIVE CASES DECLINES TO 837

PRESS RELEASE — The Ministry of Health, Wellness and Elderly Affairs today Monday, October 11, 2021, confirms a total of thirteen (13) new cases of COVID-19. These cases were processed on Sunday, October 10, 2021 at the Ezra Long Laboratory from a total of 102 samples which were collected between October 7 and October 9, 2021. This number of positive cases makes up 12.7% of all the samples processed on that date. These new cases bring the total number of cases diagnosed in-country to date to 12,017.

Confirmation was also received of the recovery of 290 individuals diagnosed with COVID-19. This brings the number of active cases in-country to 837. One (1) individual is in critical state while ten (10) others are severely ill at the Respiratory Hospital.

To date, a total of 36, 240 individuals have received the first dose of the AstraZeneca COVID- 19 vaccine and 30, 117 have received the second dose. A total of 11, 463 individuals have received the first dose and 5, 628 individuals have received the second dose of the Pfizer vaccine.

Vaccinations will continue tomorrow Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at the Vieux Fort RC Parish Hall, La Ressource Constituency Council in Dennery, Gros-Islet Human Resource Center. Vaccinations will also be distributed at the People’s Discount Drugstore at its Victoria Street location by appointment only.Vaccinations are scheduled for distribution at all sites from 9 am to 4 pm.
