Saint Lucia Record 9 New Cases OF COVID-19 and 13 Recoveries

Today Sunday, November 15, 2020, the Ministry of Health received confirmation of nine new cases of COVID-19 bringing the total number of cases diagnosed in the country to date to 171.

Case #163 is a 42-year-old male from the Choiseul district

Case #164 is a 27-year-old male from the Castries district

Case #165 is a 38-year-old male from the Castries district

Case #166 is a 32-year-old female from the Vieux-Fort district

Case #167 is a 40-year-old female from the Gros-Islet district

Case #168 is a 10-year-old female from the Gros-Islet district

Case #169 is a 60-year-old female from the Laborie district

Case #170 is a 26-year-old male from the Babonneau district

Case #171 is a 39-year-old female from the Castries district

All of these individuals, after being assessed and tested for COVID-19, were placed in quarantine by health practitioners while awaiting receipt of their test results. Five of these cases were identified through the contact tracing process and epidemiological links have been established for these five cases.

Cases #163 and #166 are linked to case #109. Case #164 is linked to case #142. Cases #167 and #168 are linked to case #147. As per protocol, arrangements have been made to place these individuals into care.

The Ministry of Health is pleased to announce the recovery of a total of 13 cases of COVID-19 from Thursday, November 12, 2020, to today November 15, 2020. These 13 individuals have been released from care and reintegrated into their communities. This now brings the total number of active cases currently in the country to 110. At present, one of the active cases remains in critical care at the Respiratory Hospital and all of the remaining active cases are stable.
