Escaped Prisoner, Road Block is Dead

Escaped prisoner Markin Marquis alias ‘Road Block’ who was on remand at the Bordelais Correctional Facility, charged with the murder of Disk Jockey Lyndon George, was last night shot and killed by police in the Dennery Valley.

Marquis who has been on the run since escaping captivity, was on the verge of eluding capture via a stolen canoe when police attempted recapture him.  He had led local police on a manhunt for the past five days. Until last night, it appeared that he had been one step ahead of the lawmen.

His death comes on the heels of the capture of one of his cohorts, Dave Joseph alias “Pirate” who was captured in Praslin three days ago.

Marquis was arrested on Monday, December 2, 2019, in connection with the death of 27-year-old Lyndon George. George, a resident of Bruceville, Vieux Fort was in the DJ booth at a dancehall in Bruceville at about 2 am when he was approached and shot once in the head.

Marqius was formally charged for causing the death of George on Tuesday, December 3. At the time of his capture, Markin Marquis was considered armed and dangerous.
