The promise of more police presence in the city of Castries is beginning to pay big dividends.
Reports are that officers from the Royal St. Lucia Police Force arrested three men on Monday night after allegedly robbing a vendor and attempting to rob a pedestrian.
Upon further investigations, officers waylaid the three bandits in a nearby community where they were arrested and taken to the Central Police station.
A vehicle that was reported stolen earlier in the day, was also found nearby and was believed to have been the mode of transportation used by the bandits.
Police Commissioner, Serverin Monchery, last week warned criminal elements that the police force won’t back down to criminals, asserting that the force is committed to the safety of the citizens of Saint Lucia.
