Leading the way was Sandals Grande Antigua which won a gold Travvy award for Best All-Inclusive Adult/Couples Resort in the Caribbean/Bahamas.

Sandals Resorts copped an award for Best Luxury Hotel Chain, following a number of innovations throughout the year which included the introduction of the extravagant over-the-water villas and bungalows at Sandals Grande Saint Lucian and Sandals Royal Caribbean in Jamaica.

The award for Best All-Inclusive Luxury Resort, Caribbean/Bahamas went to Sandals La Source Grenada while the Best Destination Wedding Hotel/Resort, Caribbean/Bahamas went to Sandals Ochi Beach Resort in Jamaica.

Meanwhile, Beaches Turks and Caicos took the award for Best All-Inclusive Family Resort, Caribbean/Bahamas.

“This is an excellent start to what we know will be a marvellous year for us in Saint Lucia,” said Managing Director for Sandals Resorts in Saint Lucia, Winston Anderson.

Sandals is about to break ground for the new Sandals La Source in Saint Lucia, a hotel that promises to redefine the luxury-included concept.

“We continue to raise the bar and challenge ourselves in innovation and human relations and we are seeing the results. Our guests are happy and keep coming back and the destination continues to grow as we grow. We are very happy to be able to share these Travvy awards with Saint Lucia,” Anderson said.

He added that outside of resort construction and golf club renovation, Sandals in Saint Lucia will be observing 25 years of operation in Saint Lucia.

“It all began in 1992 with the purchase of Regency LaToc and we set sail as early as April 1993. The rest is history,” Anderson said.

To commemorate this milestone, the island will be treated to a series of events and activities.
