Leader of the Opposition Hon Philip J Pierre is urging all residents of Saint Lucia to take the necessary precautions in order to minimise the loss of life or property that may result from the impending weather event.
He advises Saint Lucians residents to listen attentively to official weather advisories from the Met Office and to follow all instructions given by NEMO.
Hon. Pierre notes that contrary to the usual custom, The Leader of the Opposition was not invited to the first STRIKE meeting OF NEMAC yesterday. However, he remains committed to working with the government to ensure that the people of Saint Lucia are not unduly affected by this act of God.
Finally, Mr Pierre advises the Acting Prime Minister that since the impending storm is expecting to affect Saint Lucia sometime this afternoon, he should advise that businesses be closed before midday so as to allow persons travelling outside Castries to get to their homes at the earliest.
If Pierre addressed the Acting PM in relation to precautionary measures for the storm it means the PM is not in St Lucia. It simply shows where his priorities are. What it is that is so important overseas that he could leave and return home? Could it be that he don’t consider the place home!
