There were wins for La Clery (FC Porto) and Dennery (Shalke) on Sunday when the St. Lucia Football Association continued its round of 16 FA Fantasy Inter- District Champions League at the Fond Assau Playing Field in Babonneau with two exciting encounters.

In game 1, La Clery took the lead against Grod Islet with a second half penalty when Johnathan Allen converted in the 53rd minute after the half time score line was goalless.

Gros Islet found the much deserved equalizer through Daniel Dennis in the 55th minute to set up a penalty shootout.  At the end La Clery (FC Porto) won over Gros Islet (Manchester City) 4-3.

The crowd had built sufficiently to support the home team against Dennery (Chelsea), but would have left the ground disappointed as Babonneau went down 1 – 0.

Dennery (Chelsea) took the lead with a goal from No.15 Sylvarius  Vidal after just 23 seconds, but despite Babonneau fighting back and taking control of the half with a series of fast paced counter attacks, the Dennerydefence was able to deny them any scoring opportunities.

The encounter was halted by the Referee for at least 7 minutes when Babonneau’s No.5 Shan Constantine was issued with a yellow card after the referee deemed that his tackle against Dennery No.8 Marvin Joseph was reckless and dangerous. Joseph sustained a dislocated elbow in the process. He was attended to by a female medical personnel attached to the Babonneau squad both on and off the field, before  being taken to the Victoria Hospital for further medical evaluation.

On the resumption following the mishap saw both teams continue firing at each other with the Referee Vivian Robinson cautioning the players on both sides.
