Dennery Rider Wins Independence Classic

CHAD Jn Baptiste of Dennery won his first major cycling title last weekend, Jn Baptiste powered his way across the finish line to emerge champion in the 68 kilometre National Lotteries Authority Independence Road Race from Dennery to Vieux Fort and back.

A total of 29 riders started the 68km event out of Dennery.

Final results were: Open Category – 1st Chad Jn Baptiste (Dennery) 2 hours 7 minutes 20 seconds, 2nd Pius Alphonse (Dennery) 2 hours 7 minutes 30 seconds, 3rd Fidel Mangal Mon Repos 2 hours 8 minutes 25 seconds.

In the Junior category – 1st Andrew Norbert (Mon Repos) 2 hours 12 minutes 34 seconds, 2nd Donald Joseph (Dennery) 2 hours 16 minutes 56 seconds, 3rd TerrianoFelicien (Mon Repos) 2 hours 33.00 seconds

In the Juvenile category 1st Kluivert Mitchel (Mon Repos) , 2nd Jesse Mentor (Mon Repos) and 3rd Sherkel Aubert (Excellers)
