ONE match was played in the AcyntaAuguste Women’s 50 overs competition last weekend when defending champions Choiseul defeated Laborie by a massive 134 runs.
The highlight of the encounter was a maiden half century scored by SolangeAubert and an all-round performance by former national women’s captain Roylin Cooper.
Choiseul batting first amassed 228 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 45 overs with Aubert, top scoring with a well-played 60 Cooper went on to score her first 50 for the season.
Bowling for Laborie Abigail Alexander bagged 5 for 43 and Leona Emmanuel picked up 2 for 61
Chasing 229 for victory, Laborie was bundled out for 94 as they lost wickets at crucial intervals.
Bowling for Choiseul Cooper took 6 for 22 and Marieange Antoine bagged 3 for 37.
Matches continue this weekend. On Saturday, Mon Repos plays Gros Islet at the Wenn Playing Field and Laborie will be at home to Vieux Fort North.
On Sunday, South Castries meets Gros Islet at the Mindoo Phillip Park and Choiseul plays Vieux Fort North in Laborie
Meanwhile, the South Castries Lotteries Authorities T20 competition bowled off yesterday at the Mindoo Phillip Park. In the opening encounter Forestierre (Catahars) took on New Park (Lions).
